Update from Mitch

Well we are about to begin our final semester at Palabra de Vida! This semester includes 2 Bible course: "Evangelism and Discipleship" and "Christian Living." The classes will be taught only in Spanish and we will be mixed in with the regular Spanish speaking students. It is going to be very challenging.

I continue to struggle with Spanish. I am doing well with being able to speak the language, but I am far behind in my ability to understand others. I am trying different things and hopefully it will improve. Debbie is much better at understanding what others are saying so I lean on her alot (I do the speaking and she does the listening, imagine that!). Grace and Hope are progressing very well in Spanish. They have very, very good accents according to our friends and neighbors here.

We have started to work with a young missionary couple (Gaston & Flavia) in the northern zone of Buenos Aires. A couple weekends ago, we spent the weekend with them and I led a devotional (in Spanish) with the Word of Life Bible Club leaders in that zone and the next day preached at a church (in english). Next weekend I will be going with Gaston to visit some churches and other Bible Clubs.

We have booked our flights and will be arriving Tampa on July 22nd! We still seek God for future plans, but as of now we are very excited to be returning home. :) We miss everyone and look forward to seeing all of our friends!

That is it for me for now; we will make a much better attempt to keep the blog active and updated during these last few months.

God Bless!

New Year's Update from Debbie

What a great month of rest we had in December!! The pictures we have posted in our blog our from the area of Patagonia in Southwest Argentina. It is part of the Andes mountain chain & is full of spectacular lakes & snow capped mountains.

We spent Christmas night in a hotel en Neuguen. The girls were most excited about the pool, the bath tub (we have a shower), and the many fireworks we saw from our balcony at midnight! Christmas eve is the night of celebration here. There is a big meal & a large display of fireworks at midnight. The day of Christmas is spent relaxing or traveling back home. We followed this tradition & drove back home to Monte on Christmas day.

The girls enjoyed their new Nintendo DS's all the way home (Christmas gifts from Granny Mary & Aunt Mona). Christmas was very non-traditional. We missed the holiday music & festivities. Most of all, we missed being with our family and friends! No matter what the tradition, the gift of Jesus is universally, the ultimate gift!

Classes start back January 5th . We will have spanish classes, and help with summer camp.
